This policy explains what data the TrazorNotes app (Android and Windows) handles and why. The principle is simple: your notebooks are yours, and they never go through our servers. They only leave your device if you turn on sync with your own Google Drive, and then they go straight from your device to your Google account. On our side, the only data we handle is the minimum needed to run the Premium license.

- Your notes, drawings, PDFs and images are stored on your device. We do not upload them to any server of ours.
- If you turn it on, the app syncs your notebooks with your own Google Drive, directly and without going through us (section 4).
- There are no TrazorNotes user accounts and no passwords.
- We show no ads, add no analytics or tracking tools, and do not sell or share data for commercial purposes. On Android, the Google component that recognizes handwriting sends technical diagnostic data to Google (section 7).
- If you buy Premium we handle your purchase details, and your email address only if you use it to activate the license on other devices, so we can issue and validate your license.
3. Your notebooks and files
Everything you create in TrazorNotes is stored as local files on your device. That includes notebooks, whiteboards, annotations, images, stickers, templates and settings.
If you export or import a copy of a notebook with the system file picker, or share it with another app (for example email or a messaging app), the copy goes wherever you choose, and the transfer is performed by the operating system and that app, not by us. TrazorNotes cannot access any files you did not pick.
On Android, automatic system backup is disabled for the app, so we do not send your notebooks to Google backups.
4. Google Drive sync (optional)
You can connect your Google Drive account to keep the same notebooks on all your devices (Android and Windows). It is optional and only starts if you tap "Connect Google Drive".
How you authorize it. You sign in and grant permission on Google's page or account picker, not in TrazorNotes: the app never sees your Google password. We only request the drive.file permission, which lets TrazorNotes see and change only the files the app itself creates in your Drive. It cannot see, read or change any of your other files.
What is stored in your Drive, in a folder named "TrazorNotes":
- your notebooks (
.trzfiles) and a thumbnail of each one; - how your library is organized: the names, colors and order of your shelves and folders, and which notebook is in each;
- technical details for each notebook: its title, an internal identifier, a fingerprint of its content (to detect changes without downloading it), and the name of the device that last uploaded it (for example "PC-JOSE"), used to tell the two versions apart when a notebook changed on two devices at once.
Where it travels. Files go directly between your device and Google, encrypted (HTTPS). They do not go through our servers, and we have no access to your Drive or to your authorization.
Where the authorization is kept. Only on your device. On Windows it is stored encrypted with Windows data protection, tied to your user account. On Android it is managed by Google Play services. It is never sent to our server.
Use of Google data. TrazorNotes' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: data from your Drive is used only to sync your notebooks; it is not transferred to third parties, not used for advertising or to train artificial intelligence models, and no person reads it.
Disconnecting and deleting. You can tap "Disconnect" in the cloud panel: the app revokes the permission and stops syncing. Your notebooks stay on your device and in your Drive. To delete what is in the cloud, delete the "TrazorNotes" folder from your Google Drive. You can also remove the permission from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Google handles the files stored in your Drive under Google's privacy policy.
5. Premium license
TrazorNotes is free with a limited number of notebooks. A Premium purchase works on both Android and Windows. To make that possible, when you buy or activate your license we handle:

When you buy in the app, it checks the purchase with our server automatically, without asking for your email. Our server then issues a digitally signed license certificate, which is stored on your device. The app checks it offline, and only contacts our server now and then to renew it.
Payments. Payments are processed by Google Play or the Microsoft Store. We never receive or store your card or payment details. Those stores handle your data under their own policies.
6. Integrity check (Android)
When it verifies a purchase or activates a license on Android, the app uses Google's Play Integrity API to confirm that it is the original app installed from Google Play, running on a genuine device. Google produces a verdict with technical information about the app and device. Our server uses it only to validate the purchase. Google's privacy policy also applies to this processing.
7. Handwriting recognition
"Convert to text", "Live text" and handwriting search recognize your writing on your device:
- Windows: uses the handwriting recognition built into Windows, which runs on your computer. Your handwriting is not sent anywhere.
- Android: uses Google ML Kit, which works offline: your handwriting does not leave your device. The only download, from Google, is each language pack the first time it is needed.
For diagnostics and usage analytics, ML Kit sends Google encrypted (HTTPS) technical data: device and app information, a per-installation identifier not intended to identify you or your device, performance metrics, error codes, the size of what is processed, and the configured languages. According to Google, ML Kit does not transfer this data to third parties. It does not include your handwriting or the content of your notebooks, and we have no access to it.
8. Permissions
- Internet: handle purchases, activate the license, download handwriting recognition languages and, if you connect it, sync with your Google Drive.
- Background tasks (Android): used by Google components to finish downloads and send the technical data in section 7.
- Google Play Billing: make in-app purchases.
- Google account (only if you connect Google Drive): chosen with Google's account picker; see section 4.
The app does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or your photos and files in general. It only accesses the files you pick with the system picker and, if you connect Google Drive, the files the app itself creates there.
Links you tap inside your notebooks or PDFs open in your browser after you confirm. From then on, the visited site's policy applies.
9. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. The only parties involved are:
- Google and Microsoft, to process purchases and verify purchases and integrity.
- Google, as the provider of your Google Drive, if you connect sync. Your notebooks are stored there in your account, not ours.
- Google, for ML Kit on Android: language packs and the technical data in section 7.
- The infrastructure providers that host our license server and send activation emails. They act on our behalf and only for those purposes.
- Authorities, when required by law.
These providers may be located outside your country. If so, your data is handled with the same protections described here.
10. How long we keep data
- License and purchase data: for as long as your license exists, and afterwards for as long as legal, tax or refund obligations require.
- Technical logs (IP, requests and integrity verdicts): up to 30 days.
- Your notebooks in Google Drive: in your account, until you delete them. We keep no copy.
- If you ask us to delete your data, we will. Without it, however, we can no longer restore your license on other devices.
11. Security
Communication with our server is encrypted (HTTPS). License certificates are digitally signed so they cannot be forged. Access to server data is restricted. No system is infallible, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
12. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its processing. You also have any other rights granted by the law of your country (for example portability or restriction of processing). Email from the address linked to your license. We reply within 20 business days.
13. Children
TrazorNotes is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a child has given us their email, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with its update date. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
